The Bleeding Edge

I've been sitting on this bit of news for a while, because I wasn't sure if we should be spilling about it yet, but after running into both editors (see below!) at the vintage paperback show today, I guess we can go live...

I'm really thrilled to announce that I've had a story accepted into a new anthology called THE BLEEDING EDGE. This one will be out in June, initially in a limited edition of 75 copies, followed shortly thereafter by a trade edition of 500. Dig some of my fellow contributors: Ray Bradbury, Joe R. Lansdale, John Shirley, Richard Matheson and Richard Christian Matheson, Nancy Kilpatrick and Cody Goodfellow. The book's being published by Dark Discoveries, and is edited by Jason V. Brock and William F. Nolan. I'd never met the delightful Mr. Brock before today (in fact I had no idea he'd be at this show), and Mr. Nolan blew my mind by telling me how much he loved the story (cripes, he even recited parts of it!).

Granted, the cover art's fabulous, too, the interior illustrations rock, the line-up of contribs is astonishing...but what's particularly cool is that Mr. Nolan was the first working author I ever really talked to. Back when I was a teen in San Diego, he was kind enough to meet me for lunch one day and chat about LOGAN'S RUN (just because a friend and I wrote him a letter when we found out he was in San Diego). This is one of those incredibly gratifying "full circle" kind of experiences that just kind of makes it all okay.
