We can stay!

Yay! Yesterday California's voters resoundingly trounced Proposition 98, which looked liked a protection against Evil Government claiming eminent domain to abscond with private property, but was actually whispering, "Psst - hey, over here - we're gonna get rid of rent control, too! Heh heh heh..." Had 98 passed, it would have meant that writers and workers in the food service industry would no longer have been able to afford living in California.

(I'm lying, of course, because writers already can't afford to live in California; now, we will at least be allowed to retain our dreamlike and illusory existences.)
