Latest bout of egosurfing

Yeah, okay, I do it once a year or so. I could lie and say it's to protect my intellectual properties and make sure nobody's illegally posting my stories, but that wouldn't be completely true.

Some of the amusing things I discovered today:

  • I'm (inexplicably) thanked by Steve Jones in the acknowledgments for his book Creepshows: The Illustrated Stephen King Movie Guide

  • A mention of my story in an upcoming issue of the excellent British magazine Crimewave (but unfortunately the darn link was broken)

  • About.com lists The Halloween Encyclopedia as one of the four best books on Halloween; and a website about pumpkins (!) had a nice write-up on it

  • An interesting discussion about the lack of nominations for female writers in the Hugos, which included a mention of me being the sole female winner in last year's Stokers

  • A page for me at The New York Times (which includes a listing for a movie that will never be made)

And then, of course, there's the usual line-up of Lisa Mortons who aren't me. The top one right now is a body builder. I do like the one write-up on her that was headlined: "Lisa Morton - Hotness Has a New Name!" I'm sure she won't mind if I borrow that.
