Goodbye, pumpkin

Friday was November 11. In some areas of the British Isles, November 11th was once known as "Old Samhain", because when the calendar system changed from the Julian to the Gregorian, eleven days were shifted. I like to think this means we have two Halloweens; Ricky Lee likes to think it just means that the entire period from October 31st to November 11th is one long Halloween.

One thing I can absolutely tell you is that by November 11th it's time to throw the pumpkin out.
