It's getting better all the time...

...or at least it doesn't totally suck any more. The HWA's Stoker Weekend in June is starting to pull together, especially with the recent confirmation of two excellent nominees who'll be in attendance (Bev Vincent and - yep, I can hardly believe it, either - Chuck Palahniuk). Nephilim is still moving forward, and has passed the one-third done mark. And it's not raining in Los Angeles today. I for one am so fabulously, incredibly, excessively, utterly tired of rain that I may be the only one in the city who hopes we don't get another 1.12" before July to break that 1883-4 record. There's a reason I don't live in Seattle, knowwhatImean?

MOVIE: Still working my way through the Korean series Say You Love Me. The middle episodes bog down a little, but still contain enough gasp-inducing shocks to hold my interest. Best dialogue exchange: (The viciously bitchy CEO, as brilliantly portrayed by Yeom Jung-ah, has just lied to her naive boytoy and told him she's pregnant; her hunky ex-boyfriend confronts her with a lie that's obvious to everybody but the stupid young kid)

HIM: "I can't believe you lied to that kid about being pregnant!"

HER: "Oh, there are much worse things I could have done."

Yowza. Dialogue just doesn't get much better than that. Damn.
